Resetting your Apple Watch for sale: 4 steps

Follow these 4 steps to reset your Apple Watch for sale.

1. Back up your Apple Watch
   Your Apple Watch automatically backs up to the paired iPhone. Ensure your iPhone has the latest data from your Apple Watch before unpairing it.
2. Unpair Apple Watch from iPhone and Apple ID
   Keep your Apple Watch and iPhone close together. Open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap on the "My Watch" tab. Tap on "All Apple Watches" and tap the info button next to your Watch’s name. Tap "Unpair Apple Watch" and confirm by tapping "Unpair" again. For GPS + Cellular models, choose whether to keep or remove your cellular plan. Then, enter your Apple ID password to disable the activation lock.
3. Erase Apple Watch
   Navigate to General > Reset > tap "Erase All Content and Settings". Follow the steps to erase everything. After this, the Watch will be completely reset and ready for use without any personal data.
   On the Apple Watch, go to the menu, select General > Reset > tap "Erase All Content and Settings". Follow the prompts to erase everything.
4. Manually erase Apple Watch
   If you don’t have your iPhone handy, you can also erase the Apple Watch directly. Follow these steps to completely erase and unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone. On your Apple Watch, go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. For GPS + Cellular models, choose whether to keep or remove your cellular plan. Tap "Erase All" to confirm. You may need to enter your passcode.
